Postmortem - 6/24/2021
First game published using Unity. Up until this point I had been getting pretty comfortable with GameMaker Studios.

Learning from the mistakes of a few of my previous jams, We looked for an idea that had high potential, was unique, and didn't require too much programing work. We had a lot of time for this game jam, but a lot of it was taken up trying to organize workflow between us and figure out GitHub.

Graphics turned out ok I guess. Looking back at it we probably would have been better served by a more cartoony 2D aesthetic. The music for this was created last minute, and turned out ok, but I definitely should have made the loop longer. A 15 second background music loom quickly gets tiring.

Gameplay wise, this was an interesting idea, but boils down to guessing where your moons will go, as there is no good way to predict them, or to line up a similar shot to your previous one.

On the programming side, I had a lot of fun trying to "fix" gravity for this project. I needed to adjust the math to make it easier for the player to land things in orbit, as real world physics don't allow for it to work the way we need it to work.

Another improvement from previous entries, I made an official title screen and menu system. Had a lot of fun with the drop shadow on this.

This project placed very well in the rankings for this jam, I was very happy with my scores. However I still did not managed to get featured. I still have a ways to go to make my games more memorable.
